Confluence - CV founder Parise Mongrain hands over general management reins to Mark Shaub. Confluence - CV's team warmly welcomes Mark and wishes him every success!
Montreal, Friday April 19th 2024 – Dear artists, collaborators, partners and friends,
It is with confidence and enthusiasm that I announce the appointment of Mark Shaub as General Manager of Confluence - CV. This news heralds another important phase of development for our organization, which will be guided with sensitivity, creativity and solidity.
Originally from Oklahoma, Mark has been part of the Montreal cultural scene for over thirty years. He danced professionally for many years, including sixteen years with Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault. Following his dancing career, Mark worked in the Dance section of the Canada Council for the Arts as a program officer, which gave him an in-depth understanding of the ecosystem of public funding within the arts sector. Later, he worked for more than ten years with Cirque du Soleil, as Artistic Director on touring shows.
As a performing artist who has made his own successful career transition towards new and fulfilling professional experiences, he understands first-hand how crucial it is to provide support during the important, even difficult, stage of questioning one's identity. Mark is happy to share his experience with artists and guide them in the next stages of their professional lives. He therefore happily agreed to take over from me, while I now devote myself to the dance milieu.
